Q&A...

Recently we've had WONDERFUL comments posted on the entries and I wanted to take a moment to answer a few of them publicly.

1) Recently someone asked if Rosalie and Phyllis are best buddies exclusively, or are many of the photos just coincidentally of the two of them playing. Rosalie (aka GiGi of recent) and Phyllis are very close friends. That's not to say Renatta is estranged from them, but Renatta likes to do her own thing and does everything on her own schedule.

2) Regarding the introduction of Phyllis to the Aliens and why it was "so easy" for us to do. That's a tough question. I think the first and most important piece was that we have a spare bedroom that is now the Kittens' Room. When they first came home they stayed in there and Phyllis would sit outside the door playing footsies with them under the door. That got them someone used to each other's smell. Another tactic (strange) was that someone suggest we rub them all down with one dryer sheet. Apparently that's supposed to help them all have a similar smell. They were all only allowed supervised visitation for the first three days. And they weren't allowed to play rough until about day 7 when we could trust that it really WAS actual playing and not actually trying to kill one another. :)

3) TO ANNE: Thank you for Phyllis' nomination for Secretary of State. She appreciates being recognized for her international efforts.

4) Regarding someone's excitement about introducing them to my Christmas tree: my husband states that due to the mess, he believes the we'll have to tell the kitties we're Jewish "and that's why we don't have a Christmas Tree".

5) Leo and "the Virg" - yes, I've been trying to get Virgil's mom to post more photos. She swears she has tons, but hasn't had much time to edit and/or post them. She's very sorry and promises to post updates soon!

6) Phyllis received a special comment/note from one of her littermates/sisters, but we would LOVE to hear more from you (I think it was Ramona)!

Hope this gives some clarity! Thank you all for following. Keep the great comments coming.

When does size matter?

Can you believe how big Rosalie looks here in these photos?

Matt has come up with a new nickname for her, The Pterodactyl (our little pre-historic screeching creature) (until I just went to spell that I thought it would be cute. Sorry, that's a dumb word to see, but fun to say).

That's one LONG tail!!

And such big eyes grandma!

Gimme a hug Phyllis!

My baby girls are growing SOOO much!!!

Someone help me! I think my husband is going to try to get more kittens soon if some magical scientist out there doesn't develop a formula soon for shrinking cats back into kittens!

They are so big! And so beautiful!

Phyllis: The Lovergirl

Phyllis has become the penulitmate beauty queen doting aunty/mom!! This gorgeous lady just keeps getting more and more loving over time, even though she's always been loving!

Every day Matt and I discuss how amazed we are at how she's adapted to the "little ones" (though not very little anymore!!). Beyond that, she absolutely cherishes any and all time she spends alone with Matt or me. So much so that since we returned from L.A. on Monday evening, she comes into the bedroom at about 3AM, when she knows the little ones are down for the evening, and walks all over me until I start petting her. She's trapsing all around my face, all over my chest, up and down my legs, giving me buddy bumps (head buts), all the while humming her sweet VERY delicate PURRRely Phyllis purr.

We just love her so much.

Strike a Pose...

She almost looks like an adult kitty. You know? Kinda like the first time you put make-up on a 8 year old girl. She's so precious.

(Chin up Rosalie... ok, now a little to the left. Oooo! Right there! Hold that pose!)

Learning the Ways of the Wireless World...

Little Miss Renatta gets a less from Phyllis on the benefits of being environmentally conscious when printing documents.

(If you shred the paper with your claws before it gets all the way out of the printer the recyclers can process it more easily!)

P.S. News, updates and photos of Virgil will be coming shortly. His mom promises to share some of her TONS of photos. She reports his nose fetish is still quite strong, lick, nipping, snuggling, he loves noses.

Lazy Mornings...

Ahhhh... nothing like the morning paper and a good cup a joe!

"Matt! My coffee! Toute suite!"

"Who's the white haired falla running for President this time?"

"Rosalie! I told you the funny papers were my favorite! Give 'em back!"

"Ahhh... the Arts & Leisure Section, right up my alley! The funny papers are for kittens! HA!"

"Pssssst! Help! But DO NOT tell her where I hid the funny papers!"

Dear Daddy...

Phyllis has a favorite pen pal! When daddy Rich is at work papa Matt helps her compose very well composed notes about their activities during the day.

They usually go something like this: "bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnn..................... ooooooooooooooooooggggggggggggggggg uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

I usually interpret this to mean, "Dear daddy, we slept a lot today. Love you. See you when you get home."

Kitten BBQ...

Ahhh... nothing like the smell of burning... oh, sorry. Burning steak on the grill! Not kittens! You silly!

So, yesterday we had several friends over, including Virgil's mom, for a BBQ and a meet and greet with the babies. Everyone had a great time! Especially the Aliens! Everyone kept asking me what they could bring for the BBQ and I kept saying, "Nothing! Just show up with a smile!" Well, everyone brought something for the kittens, so they have a WHOLE NEW batch of kitten toys! Including a little baggy of freshly spun YARN!! Some of it was in balls with streamers and some was just loose string.

They are so excited! Such thoughtful friends!

At one point we brough Phyllis out on the deck with us... just being held (we don't have outdoor kitties) and she was an angel. Little Rosalie on the other hand was brought out and jumped off of Matt's lap and RAN over to me across the grass. Her outdoor adventure ended shortly thereafter. Sorry Rosalie!

Nothing to do with the Kitten BBQ, but cute, ain't she???

Not a dishwasher...

No sirs and madams, this is not a dishwasher. This is a sliding rack in our cabinet for pots and pan... and kitties!

Ms. Renatta couldn't resist a little exploration.

The Yummy Squeeze... I just can't resist

I know, you all want to see three little kitties battling it out. After all, "Phyllis and the Aliens" doesn't exactly inspire peace and love. Well, these days, a little Butterbeaning can't be missed. It's impossible to pick up the camera without capturing something like this.

So, can we give a shout out to the new Davenport kittens! Good luck! We love you and hope you have great luck finding the best, most loving homes!
